PEME is an exceptional engineering company that helps you to realise sustainable improvements in asset reliability and cost-effectiveness through the application of reliability technologies and methods.
We achieve this by employing Reliability Engineers who work specifically on our reliability improvement initiatives and also by ensuring our mainstream engineers, supervisors and managers have the reliability knowledge and skills to make effective plant maintenance decisions.
We directly employ a Reliability Development Manager who is responsible for overseeing any on-going reliability initiatives with our clients and our in-house reliability training courses.
Our courses cover subjects such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Predictive Maintenance or Condition Based Monitoring (CBM). The courses are attended by both peme and client engineers. This promotes the success of reliability initiatives by ensuring we have a common understanding of the methodology and process being followed.
A range of courses have been developed, which include:
- Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Overview: A 1-day CBM overview training course that provides engineers with a basic understanding of the core condition monitoring techniques (e.g. thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis and acoustics or ultrasound) and the types of equipment and failure modes that are best addressed by this form of preventive maintenance. This course has proved to be particularly useful in raising CBM awareness across engineering departments and helps in ensuring predictive maintenance or CBM initiatives are successful.
- Firstline Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM): A 1-day practical course that trains engineers to use a PEME developed abridged-RCM process when making decisions about asset criticality, preventive maintenance tasks and task intervals. This course also provides guidance on how to write maintenance task descriptions that are unambiguous and quantitative.
- Full Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM): A 4-day comprehensive course for engineers who will be conducting full RCM analysis. The course provides a structured maintenance strategy review process that can be applied to new or existing assets. The PEME Full RCM methodology forms part of that review and can be applied across a whole plant or on selected assets.
- Firstline Root Cause Analysis (RCA): A 1-day practical course that trains engineers to use a PEME developed abridged-RCA process when identifying the root-causes of engineering failures during their normal working routine. This ensures our engineers question whether they are solving a re-occurring problem with their actions or inappropriately dealing with the symptoms of an underlying problem. This short course provides several equipment trouble shooting guides.
- Full Root Cause Analysis (RCA): A 2-day comprehensive course for engineers who will be conducting full RCA studies. If you do not tackle the root causes of failures and incidents they will continue to occur. For an effective reliability improvement programme a robust RCA is an essential element. Often, equipment will fail but the true root cause can be as a result of human actions or errors, requiring an alternative solution to just replacing the failed component. This training course provides a structured PEME process for conducting RCA studies and developing corrective actions.
