PEME ATTAINS NATIONAL SAFE CONTRACTOR’S ACCREDITATION
| November 2007
PEME Process Control are proud to announce that after a significant and in depth audit process they have been awarded accreditation and added to the database of Companies listed on the SAFEContractor scheme operated by International Safety, Health and Environmental Risk Management specialists the National Britannia Group. This programme recognises very high standards of Health and Safety practice amongst UK Contractors and accreditation is highly prized by those Companies that achieve it.
More than eighty major nationwide businesses use the database to select competent and SAFE Contractors for their projects, safe in the belief that as a result of an independent audit they are employing a Professional Company with the Safety of its Clients and Workforce to the fore.

PEME WINS SAFETY AWARD | October 2007
Bruno Duarte and Petar Chovdarov were jointly awarded the Contractor Safety Award by one of our major client’s for the month of October. While testing and labelling equipment they discovered an extractor fan in a sparsely populated area that was on the point of catching fire. They isolated and made the fan safe before reporting it to the correct people preventing a potentially damaging fire.
Bruno and Peter were presented with their awards by the client’s HSE Manager at the monthly Contractor Safety Meeting on 14th November 2007. They each received an RAC Motoring Pack and use of a preferential parking spot close by the front doors, very handy at this time of year! |

PEME APPRENTICE TAKES NATIONAL PRIZE | July 2007
Simon Latimer is one of three Electrical Apprentices that PEME recruited last year in conjunction with the ECITB. Simon will be joining PEME in October, after completing a year's full time studies to gain his technical certificates.
In July, Simon won 2 awards at his local training centre, 'Best Electro-Technical Installation Apprentice' and overall 'ECITB Apprentice of the Year'.
It is essential for the ongoing success of the organisation to recruit and train high calibre apprentices. We are delighted that Simon is helping us attain these high standards and drive the business forward. |

TWO BRAVE PEME LADIES WALK HADRIAN’S WALL | May 2007
The dynamic duo from the PEME accounts office braved all weathers to walk from Newcastle to Carlisle over seven days. Alison Bimson and Catherine Walsh embarked on the challenge and raised money for a good cause at the same time. Five Hundred Pounds was donated to Victim Support Cambridgeshire which is a cause close to the ladies’ hearts. The charity were most appreciative of the donation and were very impressed by the journey Cathy and Alison had made.
The terrain covered over the seven days was steep and rocky and the weather was not always kind but the pair showed tremendous strength and encouraged one another to achieve their end goal.

CHRISTMAS FAMILY DAY | December 2006
For the second Christmas in a row, PEME’s Head Office was overrun with excitable youngsters. The last working day before Christmas saw lots of fun (and plenty of noise) in the office as the kids were invited in for the day. A day like this would not be complete without a visit from the “man in the red suit” who handed out gifts much to the delight of the children. The day has been a great success these past two years and we hope it will become a PEME
tradition. |

CHILDREN
IN NEED | November 2006
This year's Children in Need Appeal was a great success as PEME
staff happily participated in various fundraising activities.
A 'Dress Down Day' was held on Friday 17th November along with
Auctions and Raffles to help raise a substantial sum. Thanks
go to the Company Directors who generously donated their time
on the day and spent a couple of hours washing staff cars to
help raise extra cash. All together, the event raised £188.
A most successful total. |

NEW
CAREERS FOR PEME APPRENTICES | September
2006
Within the industry, there is a need for highly skilled, qualified
engineers. PEME are committed to a successful apprentice scheme
and as such, this year, PEME welcomes six new apprentices to
staff. These "future engineers" will work across all our sites
and undergo College training over the course of the next three
and a half to five years until their full qualification is achieved.
We are proud to be working alongside the ECITB to provide a
number of these apprenticeships and fund the remainder of the
apprentice places internally. We look forward to playing a significant
roll in the professional development of these new recruits.

SUCCESS FOR
PEME SPONSORED TEAM | JUNE 2006
In only their second season of 11 a side,
the team has had an amazing season. Following their promotion
from Division 3 of the Royston and Crow League, they have improved
immensely winning the Division 2 title with 3 games to spare
and a record of 16 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss with an outstanding
total of 79 goals. After such a fantastic season, it is no surprise
that the team came away winners after their first tournament
of the Summer season at Bedford Rangers (see photograph). The
team are also planning a tour to Holland next May to take part
in a European under 13's competition. |

SITE SAFETY
AWARD | MAY 2006
Congratulations to Richard Rollings for winning the site safety
award at one of our major clients. Implementing a personal lock
off system for his team to run in conjunction with the clients'
permit system has earned Richard this award. Sourcing fuse way
lock off's, identification tags and engraved personal locks
and training his electricians in their use, Richard has taken
that extra step to ensure the safety of his team.
