PEME uses Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) techniques to help determine the condition of in-service equipment in order to predict when plant maintenance should be performed. This approach provides you with cost savings over routine or time-based preventive maintenance, because tasks are performed only when warranted.
The main value of CBM is to allow you to conveniently schedule corrective maintenance tasks and to prevent unexpected equipment failures. The key is “the right information at the right time”. By knowing which equipment needs maintenance, you can better plan the work (spare parts, people etc.) and what would had been unscheduled stops are transformed to shorter and less frequent planned stops, thus increasing asset availability. Other benefits include increased equipment life, improved plant safety, less accidents with negative impact on environment and an optimised spare parts handling.
The condition monitoring techniques offered by PEME include (but are not limited to) Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound (Acoustic) and Oil Sampling.
We have a dedicated team of reliability engineers skilled in conducting condition monitoring and our mainstream engineers are provided with CBM awareness training to ensure they recognise when the introduction of predictive maintenance techniques will provide benefit to you. This training is also provided to our client’s engineers.
Our reliability engineers are trained in Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and are able to advise on suitable preventive maintenance tasks and task intervals and assist in identifying the root causes of failures. In addition, we can assist in the interpretation of CBM data, which will allow you to make informed decisions moving forward.
The CBM analysis results are held in the PEME Condition Register (PCR) and you will be provided with your own log-in to access your plant data.
PEME also provides energy loss services such as air leak surveys, panel surveys, heat-loss surveys, steam trap surveys and fixed installation testing.
Using state of the art CBM techniques in synergy with our plant maintenance services, PEME can partner with you to formulate a truly strategic approach to engineering asset management.
