Reliability Health Check

The PEME reliability health check program utilises Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) techniques to assess the condition of your engineering assets. It is a key component of our approach to plant maintenance and is provided through our plant maintenance partnership service.

The reliability health check includes machine profiling, information gathering, analysis database population, PEME Condition Register (PCR) set-up and conducting an initial health check assessment on your engineering assets.  Followed by an on-going program of appropriate preventive maintenance tasks.

Our approach to implementing a reliability health check program is as follows:

  • Conduct an on-site Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) survey. This identifies assets and failure modes that will benefit from specific predictive maintenance techniques and captures any known ‘hot-spots’.
  • Populate the PEME Condition Register (PCR) with a 3D model of the site asset plan, condition monitoring techniques and intervals.
  • Conduct relatively high frequency CBM tasks at first (e.g. monthly) to establish trends.
  • Conduct routine CBM tasks at a frequency agreed with you based on the failure characteristics of the asset / failure mode or to meet statutory requirements. Many of our clients have monthly, 6-monthly and annual predictive maintenance routines with intervals being increased where trending indicates a developing failure mode.
  • The data from the routine condition monitoring tasks is analysed and the PCR populated. A routine automated e-mail containing a predictive maintenance report is then sent to e-mail addresses nominated by you. Any warnings or alerts are automatically notified from the PCR to you via e-mail. This helps you to plan any corrective maintenance actions.
  • Quarterly Condition Based Monitoring meetings are held on your site to review reliability trends and ensure the service we are providing is appropriate and meeting your requirements.
  • We are able to help you with your reliability improvement initiative by ensuring other reliability techniques such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) or Root Cause Analysis (RCA) are used to address areas of concern.
  • PEME also has in-house reliability training including a Condition Based Monitoring overview course that can ensure your own engineers understand the value-add from incorporating predictive maintenance techniques into your engineering asset management strategy.
