PEME’s Managing Director, Ashley Maile, recently took part in a maintenance seminar organised by the Works Management magazine at the Heritage Motor Centre near Warwick.
In these challenging economic times, getting an organisations maintenance strategy right has never been so important. Not only does this pay dividends in terms of costs savings but it also leads to improved plant efficiency and increased uptime as well as production quality and ultimately profit.
This event offered best practice advice on delivering a highly effective maintenance programme, how to banish downtime and how to win shop floor support for adopting a more preventive approach.
Presenters at the WM Maintenance Conference tackled the important maintenance topics facing manufacturers today including:
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
- Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO)
- Outsourced maintenance services
- Inspection regulations
- Advanced diagnostics
- Condition monitoring technologies
Ashley participated in a panel discussion entitled “The pros & cons of outsourcing maintenance”. This was a “Question Time” style debate among panellists with Ashley outlaying his experience and views on maintenance outsourcing and then engaging in a debate with the other panellists and members of the audience.
