PEME’s Barrie Robinson has been facilitating workshops, on behalf of several manufacturers, to help them assess their existing Asset Care regimes and identify realistic Productivity Improvement opportunities.
PEME has developed a robust Asset Care Strategy, tailoring best-practice methodologies into a fast-track Asset Care solution for our clients. The strategy has been designed to achieve significant improvement in relatively short timescales; quick wins help drive confidence in the strategy and improve engagement of our clients team.
Barrie uses the PEME Asset Care Model to conduct an assessment of a maintenance department or team and establish the gaps between existing arrangements, best-practice and client aspirations. An Action Plan is then generated to mobilise an improved Asset Care regime and / or drive continuous improvement.
The PEME Asset Care Model consists of 29 individual elements and is influenced by best practice, experience and the maintenance and reliability elements of ISO55000 and the quality requirements of ISO9001. Each element specifies a best-practice approach that should be contained in an Asset Care Strategy and met by site-based personnel.
Barrie said “I’ve done many of these Asset Care Assessments now and find them really enjoyable. I get real satisfaction from helping a group of on-site engineers visualise improvement opportunities and help them devise an Action Plan to secure the potential benefits identified.”
