CTR Racing are taking on the 2013 championships with a new passenger, new image and a new manager. Craig Chaplow (Driver and Team Principal) has recruited 3 times Dutch Champion Kees Endeveld to join him in the British Championships this season and PEME senior manager, Richard Rollings, has been appointed Team Manager to ensure the smooth running of the team.
Race 1 saw CTR manoeuvre from 10th position on the grid to a strong 6th, and it looked as though a strong finish would be possible, but after 12 laps, Kees was feeling pain in his right arm and struggling to move freely. Craig had to slow the pace slightly so they could finish the race, sadly relegating the team to a disappointing 8th position. Fighting back in race 2, Craig battled through the field to 7th position, but again Kees suffered arm pains and Craig had no choice but to back off, finishing in 12th position.
The team left Brands Hatch in 9th place in the championship, but confident in knowing they had the pace to run in the top 6. Craig remained positive about the result and said “4 weeks ago if someone had told me we would have been 9th in the championship and disappointed with that, I would not have believed them. The set-up of the sidecar is the best it has ever been and off track everything is running to plan. The whole team are looking forward to the rest of the season and some good results to better last year’s 10th position in the overall championship”.
