The PEME sponsored CTR Racing were displaying their distinctive championship sidecar outfit at the MCN Motorcycle Show in the ExCel Centre, London, on the weekend of the 4th and 5th of February.
There was massive interest around the sidecar that formed part of the BSB stand. Several celebrities had a look round the sidecar amongst which was Derek Redmond, the former international 400m athlete. Derek was really interested in the CTR Racing sidecar outfit so much so that he jumped at the chance of trying it for size.
Team Principal, Craig Chaplow went on stage in front of a large knowledgeable crowd to be interviewed together with Conor Cummins (Tyco Suzuki superbike rider) and Michael Laverty (Honda superbike rider) by Barry Nutley. Craig explained the journey that sidecars have been on from the 1980s when the world championships ran with the 500cc Grand Prix championship then went on a downhill spiral where the sport almost disappeared from the general public view to where they are now.
