PEME’s CTR Racing have taken on the UK’s fastest and most demanding racetrack. In appalling weather conditions and with unexpected gearshift problems they managed to overcome the odds and achieve their goal of two point finishes and two top tens in the 2nd round of the Eastern Airways RKB-f1 British Sidecar Championships at Thruxton, Hampshire.
Race 1 saw CTR make a promising start by gaining three places during the first lap. For the next five laps, battle ensued against the green sidecar of current champions “Team Driverwolf”. This continued until the problems experienced at Brands Hatch with passenger Kee’s arms emerged again, causing driver Craig to back-off the throttle. The pair still finished the race and added to their Brands Hatch points tally-finishing in a credible 9th place.
The decision was made by the team that a good points finish would be their aim in Race 2 and they were in a healthy 9th position when the race was stopped on lap 5, due to a smash on the track. This result, totalled with the recent points from Brands Hatch, leaves CTR currently standing at 8th in the Championship and looking forward to the next round at Donington Park.
