Several of PEME’s clients require our Asset Care engineers to complete a recognised food safety training course before commencing work on their food factory production assets.
The course our engineers complete is an on-line Food Safety Level 2 in Manufacturing provided by Train4Academy. It is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and satisfies legal requirements.
The majority of our Asset Care engineers have experience of working in the food or drink manufacturing industry and many have experience of working in High Care Areas. We are committed to ensure the food handled by the machines we maintain our free from contamination and safe for the final consumer to eat and this course gives our engineering team a sound awareness of good hygiene and safety issues and meets food industry recommendations.
The course is organised by PEME’s Training Coordinator, Caroline Louth-Burns, who advised “The Food Hygiene and Safety for Manufacturing course we use ensures our people fully understand their roles and responsibilities in order to comply with the law, deal with food safety hazards and keep manufacturing premises clean and free from pests. On successful completion of the course a certificate is issued which I capture on the PEME Training Record system so I am able to provide evidence for compliance and audit.”
