Good Luck James

PEME - James Maile

PEME’s James Maile has been short-listed for a prestigious industry award and unveiled as an Institution of Engineering and Technology Awards Finalist in a nationwide competition to recognise the best and the brightest technicians. Finalist James is now set to join top technicians at a prestigious London award ceremony hosted by Maggie Philbin.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Technician Awards scheme aims to raise the profile of the good work that technicians contribute to engineering businesses. James was selected as a finalist in recognition of his outstanding engineering or technical understanding and ability and his work as a role model.   He is employed as a PEME Engineering Team Leader supervising a group of technicians in completing maintenance on manufacturing plant. James completed an advanced mechanical apprenticeship and then progressed as a Reliability Technician supporting various blue-chip manufacturers. He has recently completed a HNC in Mechanical Engineering.

James will now join the rest of the short-listed applicants at the IET Achievement Awards Ceremony, which will take place in London on 18 November 2015, and where the winner will be announced. Winners will walk away with a trophy, certificate, £1,000, two years free membership of the IET and payment of their technician professional registration application fees (if they are not already professionally registered).

Naomi Climer, IET President said: “All of the finalists in our Technician Awards have displayed real passion for what they do as well as making a huge contribution to their sector. They should all be proud at having been recognised by the IET for their achievements through its Awards.  We hope that through the Awards we can encourage more young people into engineering and that they will help to highlight just how diverse engineering is. What’s more we also hope that they will inspire more young people to consider becoming engineering apprentices and start their own engineering career.”
