PEME’s drive to highlight and deal with Health and Safety Near Misses in the workplace continued in the second quarter of the year, with the number of high quality Near Misses reported still rising.
Jay Baldwin, based at Tate and Lyles refinery in East London, has been awarded a Health and Safety runner-up award from Tate and Lyle. The picture shows Jay receiving his award from PEME Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Michael Edwards.
Jay and his colleagues have been recognised on a regular basis over the last three years by the client for their outstanding contribution to Health and Safety standards on site and PEME has won the last two ‘contractor of the year’ awards as a result.
Michael said: “we all know that recognising and dealing with Near Misses is an important step in providing a safe working environment. The work done by Jay and everyone else who reports a Near Miss shows our real and on-going commitment to preventing accidents and developing partnerships with our clients”.
