Lewis Every Safety Award

PEME’s recent campaign to highlight the importance of Safety Near Miss reporting has been extremely well supported by our work force and has resulted in some high quality work, on several different sites. This has been acknowledged by both our clients and PEME with safety awards.

An example of this is provided by Lewis Every, a Plant Maintenance engineer based at the Akzo Nobel, Slough manufacturing plant, who discovered a gas leak around the on-site boiler house. Using his experience and training, Lewis acted swiftly and decisively to make sure the gas supply was properly isolated and the relevant steps were taken to place the asset in a safe condition until the gas leak could be repaired.

Lewis’s efforts to preserve the safety of the site people, plant and production and avoid a significant incident were recognised with an award from both Akzo Nobel and PEME. The picture shows Lewis being presented with his PEME Safety award from Health, Safety and Environment Manager, Michael Edwards.
