One of PEME’s Safety champions has been highly commended at a prestigious national awards ceremony. Operations Manager, Lee Dale, was recognised among the best in the UK at the Manufacturing Champion Awards 2017.
The awards, from the Manufacturing Management magazine, highlight the opportunities on offer in UK engineering and showcase some of the world-class talent and dynamic improvement within the sector.
Thanks to his dedication and approach to Safety with his embedded PEME team delivering an engineering support contract with a major food brand, Lee was awarded the Highly Commended certificate in the Safe Workplace Champion category.
On his accolade Lee said: “I’m very pleased and proud to have been recognised with this national award. I believe the commendation recognises my colleagues who have helped create an environment that has resulted in behavioural change towards Safety and risk assessments in particular. We have an improved team attitude towards Safety and work really hard to ensure everyone in our team is involved and sees Safety as a core activity. Safety is at the forefront everything PEME does, so it is an honour to have received a certificate recognising our hard work.”
PEME was among a number of industry-leading businesses to receive recognition at the awards event. On the recognition, PEME Associate Director, Wayne Pheasey said: “We have been a long-term supporter of the Manufacturing Champions Award scheme; it recognises the very best of UK manufacturing and more importantly recognises the people behind real-world manufacturing success. We are delighted to have one of our employees recognised at such a prestigious event, particularly in the area of Safety.”
Lee is shown receiving his award from the BBC’s Steph McGovern and safety experts Arco who sponsored the award.
