PEME recently hosted a meet-the-sponsors event for CTR Racing, the F1 Sidecar team sponsored by PEME, ahead of the 2013 season. The British F1 Sidecar Championship continues to provide some of the most spectacular action in motorcycle racing and the championship visits the UK’s top circuits, including Brands Hatch, Knockhill, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Donington, Silverstone and Mondello Park.
The event was organised by Richard Rollings who in addition to his position as a senior manager within PEME is also taking on the role of CTR Team Manager for this season. Richard raced sidecars at club level in the 90s and is looking to use that experience along with his work-related skillsets to help CTR further improve reliability. Anna Walker will again be supporting the team along with Liam Gallagher (2012 PEME Apprentice of the Year).
The visit also allowed CTR Racing to collect the refurbished sidecar that has had a new finish designed and expertly applied by Steve Payne (PEME Industrial Engraving) and provided an opportunity for Craig Chaplow (Driver and Team Principal) to meet some of the PEME staff and thank them for their continued support.
The picture shows Craig in the newly refurbished sidecar surrounded by PEME personnel, many of whom have had the opportunity to be hosted by CTR Racing on one of our corporate hospitality days. Also included in the picture is PEME Electrical Design Apprentice, Rhys Thomas (front, left) who was looking particularly ‘chipper’ as the photo-shoot provided the opportunity for a 30-minute break from his college project.
The corporate hospitality days are open to PEME clients and employees and if you are interested in attending please contact Richard Rollings directly.
