As a young man, PEME Engineering Director, Darren Martin played for Ketton Football Club. He didn’t do much for them on the wing and so when approached by current Ketton player and PEME engineer, Ian Marsh, he was happy to make amends and arrange for PEME to provide the first team with a new strip.
Several PEME engineers play for Ketton F.C. in the Peterborough and district league division 1 including Ian Marsh, Lee Dale, Calvin Whittle and Matthew Lawrence.
Ketton has a fantastic youth set-up with children of all ages enjoying regular organised football. This emphasis on the development of young people’s talent struck an accord with PEME as it matches PEME’s principles of developing new talent via our apprenticeship scheme. Many young men and women from the Peterborough area have joined PEME as apprentices and established themselves as well trained, highly competent mechanical and electrical engineers.
The picture shows Darren proudly presenting the team with their new strip, which is similar to that of the current champions of the English premier league. The story also features on the Stamford and Rutland Sports Network.
