PEME has been awarded a contract in-support of a major North Sea off-shore oil and gas project, working in partnership with a major supplier of water treatment technologies.
We are responsible for the installation of electrical and instrumentation pipework onto seven water services skids as well as assisting with the fabrication of the skids. Once complete the skids will be shipped out to Korea for final installation in the BP Quad 204, which is being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) who are one of the biggest ship construction companies in the world. Its ship manufacturing facility in Ulsan, is the largest shipyard in the world.
The Quad 204 FPSO will be designed to meet the strict safety and environmental regulations for harsh weather operations, will be located west of Shetland Isles in UK waters and will be delivered in early 2015. The FPSO will be able to produce 130,000 barrels of oil and 2.2 million cubic meters of gas per day.
“This award follows-on from the successful performances for our client by PEME on other projects across the world solidifying PEME’s position as a leading contractor in this sector” said Stef Smith, PEME Associate Director with responsibility for the successful delivery of the project. “We are proud of the long-standing relationship PEME has developed with our client”.
