After the final British Sidecar Championship round of the season, the PEME sponsored CTR Racing slid across the finishing line in an admirable 11th place overall.
The British F1 Sidecar Championship continues to provide some of the most spectacular action in motorcycle racing. The hi-tech, purpose built machines remain similar in design philosophy to those of the 1980s and the antics of the co-riders still look as perilous as ever. The championship visits the UK’s top circuits, including Brands Hatch, Knockhill, Snetterton, Cadwell Park, Donington, Silverstone and Mondello Park.
The penultimate event of the season was held at Silverstone on the 25th September and was attended by several people from PEME and our Client Partners. At Silverstone, the team’s new engine lasted for just five laps before causing problems in the first race. However, following some fast engineering expertise the sidecar was back on the grid for race two. Team owner and rider Craig Chaplow, and passenger Patrick Farrance, battled to a strong 10th place finish. In addition to appreciating the racing, the PEME contingent also enjoyed a talk from former world sidecar champion, Steve Webster.
