PEME has supported the first ever Training and Development Awards for the Engineering Construction Industry organised by the Engineering Construction Industry Training and Development Board (ECITB).
The ECITB is the statutory and charitable body set up to securing engineering construction skills now and for the future. It has delivered successfully to over one million learners, over 20 years and is led and funded by employers from the industry, ensuring the services are relevant and fit for purpose.
The event coincided with 20 years of ECITB operation, in which over 1 million learners have received support. Awards were made to individuals, companies and providers, and recognised commitment in and achievement to, training and development in the industry. PEME sponsored the ‘SME – small employer award for engagement in learning’.
The event was held in London and was attended by contractors, suppliers, and senior individuals from central government departments such as BIS and DECC and other government stakeholders in the skills landscape. Several senior politicians were also present.
