The 2017 PEME Making a Difference – Team Award has been presented to our smallest embedded Plant Maintenance Team based at a Tier 1 supplier to automotive OEMs in Droitwich.
The nominated team work alongside our client’s engineers and are responsible for the planned maintenance on production assets in critical areas of the factory.
This team have been on-site for 3-years and were initially charged with delivering a planned maintenance regime that immediately reduced the number of breakdowns and improved productivity.
The award was collected on behalf of the team by Team Leader, Steve Watkins (pictured) and presented by Ashley Maile who said “To make a difference we need to drive our Clients performance by persistently delivering pro-active solutions. This has been displayed excellently by our Droitwich Team who have been instrumental in reducing engineering breakdowns from 30% to 4% in a three-year time period”.
The team are shown below and were well-chuffed with their award for delivering the following business benefits:
- Mobilisation and delivery of an improved Preventive Maintenance regime.
- Improvement in remedial tasks completions.
- Improved recording of failure data.
- Increased visibility of maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Reduction in breakdowns.
- Recovery of lost production capacity.
