PEME has attained the new ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification allowing us to upgrade from the 2008 standard much to the delight of Michael Edwards, PEME’s Health, Safety and Environmental Manager (pictured).
ISO 14001:2015 is the new international standard for environmental management systems; it sets out the framework for effective environmental management that focus on meeting compliance obligations and enhancing environmental performance.
The new ISO 14001 standard places greater emphasis on how organisations integrate environmental performance into governance, management and operational processes. PEME’s early certification to the new standard recognises our leadership in embedding environmental performance into the culture of our business.
Michael comments: “Our goal was to provide PEME with the framework, tools and knowledge to develop a pragmatic but effective environmental management system, tailored to our business. We are chuffed that we have achieved the upgrade to our certification to the new ISO14001:2015 standard and this demonstrates our commitment to improve environmental performance.”
