Lucy Fitch has been short-listed for this year’s Rising Star (Manager / Technician) award at the Manufacturing Champions event to be held in Manchester on December 08. All entries were rigorously assessed by an independent judging panel who were looking for employees who had gone the extra mile for manufacturing excellence.
The Rising Star category Celebrates the technician or manager under the age of 25 who has made the most impressive start to his or her manufacturing career. Judges looked for a go-getter with an uncanny knack for delivering success.
Lucy is the PEME maintenance Team Leader in a packing area with a team of 3 technicians. Lucy’s first job of the day is investigate any breakdowns that have resulted in engineering downtime during the previous shift. She also has a weekly preventive maintenance plan to complete. With this information, Lucy briefs her team and allocates workloads and priorities. A normal day, will involve Lucy working with her team on production assets. They carry out routine tasks, raise remedial notifications and rectify or plan corrective jobs for a later date. She then works alongside the operators to ensure a smooth start-up back into production. Before going home, Lucy holds a final short meeting with her team to see if there was anything noteworthy found during the day.
