PEME have received the title of Safe Contractor of the Year, for the third year in a row, at Tate and Lyle’s site at Silvertown, London. This award recognises the partnership approach that PEME champions with clients to make our work places a safer place for everyone.
The award is given to the contractor who finishes top of a league table, with points awarded for achieving targets for audits, inspections and the performance of engineers on site. Points are deducted for accidents, near misses and non-conformances on audits. The approach of our people on site resulted in PEME being over 200 points clear of their nearest challenger at the end of the year.
For the third year in a row, no PEME employee suffered an accident on site and three different people won six-monthly awards for their reaction to situations and conditions in the plant.
The Safety-minded team led by Colin Smith and Fanie Blignaut, have now been challenged to make it four years in a row by our Managing Director, Ashley Maile, who acknowledged their significant achievement and the message that it sends across our business and to our clients that Safety continues to be our main priority.
