PEME was recently contacted by an enterprising young lady with a request to join us for work experience from her school in Oakham. Alison Bimson, our Accounts Manager, agreed and Sophia spent a week with our Accounts department.
Work experience is vitally important in helping young people make the sometimes tricky transition from school into work. PEME have an excellent record in developing school leavers into talented professionals both in engineering but also within our accounts department and so Sophia joined Alison’s team for her work-taster.
Sophia is shown working alongside Amanda Cox who is responsible for Payroll, Sub-contractors and company credit cards. The picture shows them with their heads-down as month end was fast approaching and differences needed to be reconciled.
Alison said “Sophia was so very helpful and up for anything too, for example in addition to her work with Amanda she helped Job Costing with our paperless initiative. I also know Amanda tremendously enjoyed the training role.”
Sophia told us she really enjoyed her time with PEME and thought it a fun place to work and sent PEME a card which said “Thank you so much for being so patient with me and allowing me to work with you for a week. I definitely learnt a lot.”
