PEME Accounts Manager, Alison Bimson, was presented with a special achievement award at our recent awards evening, in recognition of her superb effort in organising the move of PEME’s head-office to new premises.
Alison was given an empty building as a blank canvas and tasked with organising a complete office refit and ensuring a smooth transition of PEME’s operations 10 miles across Peterborough.
PEME’s own labour force was utilised to replace existing electrical and network cabling before new internal partitioning was erected to formulate new offices and meeting rooms. Obtaining quotes, awarding contracts and generally coordinating trades-persons was a major task which Alison enjoyed and made look easy, ably assisted by her on-site supervisor, Steve Payne.
Alison has been with PEME for nearly 18 years and is responsible for day-to-day issues with the new building in addition to her main role of managing the accounts department. She is keen when showing visitors around our new offices, to point out her involvement in some of the finishing touches; “I even chose the grout for the tiles in the kitchen, as well as the colour scheme for the chairs in the breakout area.”
In presenting the award, our MD, Ashley Maile, said “The office move brings a new degree of professionalism to PEME; a modern building where we can be proud to bring clients and I’m impressed with the effort Alison has made in making our move a success.”
