PEME Reliability Manager, Duncan Maxwell, has been shortlisted for this year’s Manufacturing Champions Supply Chain Champion Award. This award is presented to the pioneering individual or site team who have delivered a virtuous, value adding partnership with key supply chain partners. This category celebrates the team players who see suppliers as potential problem solvers in the quest to forge a superior product or service.
The Manufacturing Champions Awards celebrates the people whose pride and professionalism helps UK manufacturers take on the world. Entrants must demonstrate outstanding performance, innovation, teamwork and a track record in adding value to customers. This year’s awards have drawn entries from the length and breadth of British production lines with representatives from Aston Martin, Coca-Cola, BAE Systems; as well as trailblazers at SME operators. All entries were rigorously assessed by an independent judging panel who were looking for employees who had gone the extra mile for manufacturing excellence. Manufacturing Champions also aims to showcase the exciting and dynamic career opportunities on offer in UK manufacturing and challenge the myth of manufacturing as a career backwater.
Duncan is responsible for the development and implementation of reliability solutions that helps manufacturers achieve productivity improvements. He supports many manufacturers by enhancing the safety, and productivity of their manufacturing Plant through a range of reliability initiatives including: Maintenance Benchmarking; Asset Care projects to produce improved maintenance regimes; Condition Monitoring to detect potential failures to avoid breakdowns; Technical Training to improve maintenance reliability skills of engineers and Failure Investigation to identify solutions to the root causes of critical failures. Duncan will find out on 3 December in an award ceremony in Manchester if he has been successful.
