The embedded PEME team have won the Weetabix Safe Contractor award for 2014 / 2015; this is the second time the team have won this exalted award in the 3 years that it has been awarded.
The Weetabix Safety Team control and have oversight of all contractors and their annual Safety Award acknowledges the valuable contribution made to overall safety performance across the business by contractors. Throughout the year the PEME management team carries out site audits to drive continual improvement and works closely with Weetabix personnel to conduct maintenance and project installation tasks in a safe manner. Kev Boddy (PEME Site Manager) said “I am delighted that we have won this award again. We have faced some real challenges this year and have worked really hard to learn lessons and I pass on my thanks to both my team and our Weetabix partners for their contribution towards a great safety performance. We now need to work even harder to win next year, as I understand that like Brazil, if you win it 3 times you can keep it.”
PEME’s Engineering Director, Darren Martin, said: “Congratulations to the PEME team for their commitment to safety and delivery of a positive safety culture. Our employees and Weetabix colleagues are working together and looking out for each other to keep our workplaces safe; this continued focus on safety is important and it is never something that we should take for granted.”
