PEME run a football predictions competition for fun via the news page of our web-site. Players make predictions on the scores of English Premier League matches. The competition is free to enter for employees, their families and clients with a £100 prize for the best score each month and a prize for the overall winner at the end of the season.
Congratulations to Stephen Haley who wins our 2015/16 competition with a total of 501 points. George Lovell was second (awkward?) with 486 points; a position significantly better than the fifth achieved by LVG. Last year’s winning total was 570 points and so it would appear that our predictions reflect actual premier league results in that most of us did not have a clue what was happening.
The most common result in the Premier League this season was a 1-1 draw (41 times), followed by a 1-0 home win (37 times), followed by MCFC having the majority of possession but still losing. 157 (41%) matches were home wins, 107 (28%) were draws, 116 (31%) were away wins and 90% of Liverpool’s wins were undeserved.
